Ex-military cop Jack Reacher finds himself in a race to save the life of vice president-elect Brook Armstrong when he agrees, as a favor to a friend, to attempt to infiltrate the Secret Service protection around Armstrong in order to detect any holes in the system, not knowing a real assassin is trying to accomplish the same task.
